We are nearing the end of our ‘Celebrations’ topic in KS2. We have learnt a lot about how people around the world celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Epiphany, Valentine’s Day and Independence days as well as culturally specific celebrations such as Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Burns Night and we still have a few more to go! We have starting decorating for Easter in anticipation of researching how Easter is celebrated around the world. Recently we researched Chinese New Year and interviewed our guest speaker Joan on what it was like living and going to school in Beijing. We learnt a lot about Chinese culture and also developed an appreciation for the school system that we are in!
